DISABILITIES

The Club has two groups for swimmers with disabilities: Dolphins in Burgess Hill and Starfish in Haywards Heath. Both groups offer classes for children from the age of 7 and adults.

Following the merger of the two Clubs in 2007, these well-established sessions continue to give people with disabilities the opportunity to swim in a friendly club setting.

The teachers are qualified and where necessary, swimmers have the benefit of 1:1 assistance. Classes cater for beginners through to competitive swimmers and are based on water confidence, skills, swimming and fun! Many members are able to swim in mainstream lessons as well.

Each year, there are opportunities for the two groups to compete together under the banner of the Mid Sussex Marlins. They host an annual inter-club gala and many swimmers participate in regional and national galas, often with spectacular results.
